Writing tips
Whenever we have to hand in a writing for English class, we keep repeating the same mistakes. In order to avoid those typical mistakes, we have prepared a list that we can read before and after writing our texts to make sure everything is correct.
- Remember to use properly the capital letters (in English, the days of the week, the months of the years... are always in capital letters).
On Monday, last December...
- The pronoun “I” must always be written in capital letters.
Last Saturday, I went to the beach.
- Stick to the task. If you are asked to talk about the past, use past tenses. If you are asked to write a description, then use present tenses. And so on...
- Make sure that you know what the word limit is.
- You don’t breakfast. You eat breakfast or you have breakfast. Same with lunch, dinner...
- Check your spelling. It is with and not whit.
- Make paragraphs (Introduction, conclusion...)
- Remember to always write a subject.
- Scaring and scared. Boring and bored. Exciting and excited. Make sure you use them correctly.
I’m scared because I watched a scaring film.
This book is very boring, no doubt I’m so bored!
